Dean M. Jones

Dean M. Jones, 87, of Carlisle, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

He was born June 2, 1936, in Carlisle to the late Amos L. and Ethel (Hippensteel) Jones. Dean was the widower of Doris (Rutz) Jones to whom he was married for 61 years when she passed in December of 2017.

He was a 1954 graduate of Carlisle High School. Dean was a longtime employee of Associated Masonry and a member of Local #5 Harrisburg Brick Layers Union. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and Penn State Football, loved John Deere tractors, and always looked forward to taking rides in the Corvette with his son. Dean was a longtime member of Mt. Rock United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1299.

He is survived by his loving son, Jeffrey D. (wife Sydnee) Jones of Carlisle; two brothers, Arthur (wife Ginny) Jones of Churchtown and Lee (wife Faye) Jones of Carlisle; his companion, Debe Baldwin of Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by three sisters, Leila Tritt, Doris Wolf, and Joan Eshenour.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Road Newville, PA 17241 with Pastor Resa Schrack officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dean to Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Road Newville, PA 17241.
