David was a 1972 graduate of Central Dauphin High School and studied Communications for two years at Syracuse University. He played football for the Harrisburg Cowboys semi-pro team.

He was an avid horseman; riding in battle reenactments, trail riding, and participating in several Parades across the country, most notably in Washington, DC. and New York City with his horses, Aura Lea and Cecelia, affectionately referred to as “his girls.”
David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan D. (Jacobs) Shuey, his son, Nathan D. Shuey, and brothers William S. Shuey and Robert D. Shuey.
