David L. Arner, 64, of Landisburg, passed away in his home on April 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. After a 17-month long battle with Pancreatic cancer, Jesus finally called him home.
Dave grew up in Schuylkill County as the son of Darlene Lodato from Schuylkill County and David Arner of Moosehead Lake, Maine before proudly serving 20 years in the military retiring honorably as a First Sergeant. He then spent 10 years working at Microsoft before retiring in the quiet, peaceful town of Landisburg. He loved God and his family. He took joy in the simple life in his retirement after his many adventures around the world. He touched many lives and will be remembered as the passionate, God-fearing, honest, loving, and hardworking man we all knew him to be.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Esther Arner of Landisburg and his daughters Lita Brickner (wife of Jared Brickner) of Carlisle and Amy Scheerer (wife of Jeff Scheerer) of Mechanicsburg. Survivors also include his 6 grandchildren: Graeson, David, Colter, Leland, Lincoln, and Makenna. He will be fiercely missed.
Flowers can be sent to Esther Arner, or donations in Dave’s memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
He will be honored and laid to rest at Ft. Indiantown Gap.
