Darlene M. Jumper

Darlene M. Jumper, age 76, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at her residence.
She was born October 12, 1940 in Carlisle to the late John E. and Evelyn (Shultz) Stine and was the widow of Paul Jumper, Sr. who passed in December 2014.
Darlene retired from G.S. Electric and formerly worked as a cook at Zizzi’s on the Holly Pike. She enjoyed knitting and making, painting, and firing ceramic kits. She loved being surrounded by her family and, according to them, she made the best fried chicken and cheesecake in the world along with homemade ice cream and pumpkin pies that were absolutely wonderful.
She is survived by: two sons, John Jumper and Paul Jumper, Jr.; one daughter, Deborah Darr; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren with one on the way. In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Jumper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
