Dale Robert Lay, 54, of Boiling Springs, passed away on October 19, 2018, following a hard-fought battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. Born February 11, 1964 in Carlisle, he was the son of Harry and Janet Lay. He was the loving husband of Dr. Christine Lay, and dedicated father to Grant and Megan. Dale earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Shippensburg University. He was an Executive Director of Sales for AT&T Network Integration Team for over 15 years, and previously worked for the FBI for over 12 years in Virginia.
Dale was an avid sports fan and he particularly loved watching and coaching his children. He was also an excellent athlete scoring over 1000 points for both his high school and college basketball teams. Later in life, his preferred sport was golf and he enjoyed watching the Washington Capitals.
Dale is survived by his parents, wife, children, brothers, Marc Lay and wife Jennifer, Mark Allen and wife Sheri; sister-in-law Julie (Sheets) Spanos; brother-in-law John Spanos; brother-in-law Mike Sheets; sister-in-law Cindy Sheets; nieces and nephews, James Spanos and wife Samantha, Amanda Sheets, Andrew Spanos, Adam Sheets, Sierra Lay, Braeden Allen, Eli Allen and Ava Lay.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, October 22 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle, PA on Tuesday, October 23 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
