Curtis A. Cleland, 60, of Carlisle, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at his home.
Born October 24, 1950 in Carlisle, he was the son of Joan Holden Cleland and the late Nevin F. Cleland.
He worked for several local cable companies and recently celebrated his 30th anniversary with Comcast. He was involved in the radio industry as a personality and also provided technical support to several stations including Dickinson College’s and Shippensburg University’s stations. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Carlisle and the New Genesis Singles Group. He loved everything related to trains and enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are one sister, Christine Mahoney (and husband, William) of Carlisle; two nephews, Timothy Mahoney of Newville and Gregory Mahoney (and wife, Amy) of Odenton, MD; one niece, Megan Bear (and husband, Corey) of Carlisle; one aunt, Evelyn Tonge of England and his cousins Keith and Carole and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Stefanie Hasenbrink officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Churchtown. A viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ, 30 North Pitt Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
