Cora E. (Ritchey) Searing

Cora E. (Ritchey) Searing, 87 years of age of Carlisle, PA died on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle. She was born in Hopewell Twp. Bedford County, PA to the late Mal and Bernice (Clapper) Ritchey, and was the wife of Clarence O. Searing of Carlisle, PA.
Cora attended Morrison Cove HS, Nyack College, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance at Chapel Pointe, and she was an avid reader and enjoyed embroidering. Cora retired as a Registered Nurse working in the Washington, D.C. metropolis.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence O. Searing of Carlisle, PA; two sisters, Vivian Beach (husband Gerald) of Boiling Springs, PA, and Joann Ritchey of Harrisburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe of Carlisle, 770 S. Hanover St. Carlisle, PA.
Interment will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family in the Bedford Memorial Park, Bedford, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in Cora’s name to the Alliance Home at Chapel Pointe, 770 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle, Rd., Carlisle PA.
