Col. Mary Jane Carr, (Ret.) age 94, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Cumberland Crossings.
She was born August 30, 1922 in Star Junction, PA to the late Frank and Janet (Morris) Carr.
Mary Jane was a retired United States Army nurse whose service spanned World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War and ended her career at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. She was a member of the Army Nurse Corps Association, the Military Officer's Association of America and was a life member of the American Legion, Post 101, Carlisle.
She is survived by her niece, Lori (and husband Paul); great-nephews, Ryan (and wife Crystal) Curry and Tyler Curry; a great-great-nephew, Asher; and a great-great-niece, Kinsley. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brother, James Carr.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with Rev. Bruce Farrell officiating.
