Retired Technical Sergeant Cleother Hall, age 72, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
He was born September 17, 1943 in Leland, Mississippi, to the late Ruby Mae and Henry Hall.
He was educated in the Washington County School District at Breisch High School/Lincoln Attendance Center. His greatest passion during those years was his trumpet. He was a member of the marching and concert band until he graduated in 1961. After finishing high school he began college at the then Alcorn A&M College. There he joined the Alcorn Marching and Concert Band. After almost a year at Alcorn, he became restless, left, and joined the United States Air Force, his new passion. In 1983 he attended the University of Maryland and later Mississippi Valley State University. He spent 20 years in the U.S. Air force as a Telephone Equipment Installation and Repairman Technician. Retired Technical Sergeant Hall served in Ancorage, Alaska, Nashville, Tenn., Da Nang, Viet Nam, Clovis, New Mexico, Izmir, Turkey, Minot, N. Dakota, Ramstein, Germany, and Zwiebrucken, Germany. Among the many awards he received during his service career included: Joint Service Commendation Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal and Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal. He retired honorably in 1982. In 1963 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Frances Lowe. Of that marriage, we were the proud parents of Kimberly and Karen. TSgt. (RET) Cleother Hall had the greatest sense of humor!!! He used humor to lighten up any situation and believe it, was not choosy. A perfect day in his life would be hunting or fishing, and listening to the Blues. He was an exceptional cook. Early on in his adult life he developed thirst for buying cookbooks and cooking utensils. He became the best gourmet cook and an exceptional grill master. He loved to eat and cook.
Retired Technical Sergeant Cleother is preceded in death by his father and mother, Henry and Ruby Mae Hall, Leland, MS, an adopted brother Calvin Taylor, Los Angeles, California, Step brother, Clifton Mix, Leland, MS, and brother, Fred Henry Hall, Leland, MS
TSgt. (Ret) Cleother Hall leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Frances V. Hall, two daughters and their husbands, Kimberly Antonette Dewitt and Gregory Paul Dewitt, Carlisle, PA, Karen Elaine McAllister and Gerald McAllister, Lakewood, Washington, his grand children Alan M. Dewitt, Brandon L. Dewitt, Christopher A. McAllister, and Taylor M. McAllister, and great grandson, Kameron Michael Dewitt. Also cherishing his memories are a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
