Claudia Blanche Myers-Glover born Jan. 2, 1923 in Baltimore, MD went home to be with the LORD at 2:05am on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 in Carlisle, PA surrounded by her loved ones.
A greatly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, she cherished the 50 years she served as a Sunday school teacher and 40 years as a minister’s wife at various United Brethren churches in Baltimore and Pennsylvania. She was also the local president and regional treasurer and organizer of the Women’s Missionary Association.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Larwood of Baltimore, MD, her daughter, Beverly Glover of Carlisle, PA, her daughter-in-law Sharon Glover of Adrian, MI, her four grandchildren: Lamar Glover, Jr. of North Judson, IN, Amy Cook of Adrian, MI, Sarah Glover of Papua New Guinea, and Lori Kroupa of Cameron, NC, nine great-grandchildren: Hope McIntire, Cassandra Glover, Daren, Jessica, Holly and Meagan Cook, Arianna, Malinda, and Peyton Kroupa, and one great-great-grandchild Raelynn Hittle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruby (Snyder) Myers of Carroll Co. MD, her husband, Rev. H. Dorsey Glover, Jr., her brothers Raymond and Charles Myers, her sister Shirley Lutholtz, her son H. Lamar Glover, Sr., her grandson Daren Glover, and her great-great granddaughter Kelly Hitttle.
All those who knew and loved her will remember her love for cooking, her generous hospitality, her love of family togetherness, and her joyful service to the Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. A burial will follow at Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville, MD.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., December 10, 2011 at Idaville United Brethren Church, 3590 Carlisle Road, Gardners, PA.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in support of Sarah Glover (missionary to Papua New Guinea) to Sturgis Baptist Church, PO Box 844, Sturgis, MI or to Idaville United Brethern Church, 3590 Carlisle Rd., Gardners, PA 17324.
