Clarabelle "Red" Fry

Clarabelle Fry, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Thornwald Home.
She was born on April 13, 1930 in Carlisle, PA to the late John Edward McBride and Carrie (Glass) McBride.
Clarabelle enjoyed sewing, reading and watching the birds and squirrels. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she enjoyed baking Christmas cookies, especially Snickerdoodles. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Roxanne Ross of Newville, and Christy Sloan and her husband Robert of Mt. Holly Springs; four grandchildren, Brian Ross and his wife Jeannie, Corby and Teka Sloan, and Michele Martin and her husband John; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Ross, Cody Sloan, Breeann Altice, Brandy and Wayne “Jr” Strait, Trevor and Dakota Sloan-Barrick, and Karter Ross; and one great-great-grandchild, Jacob Altice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Fry (2001), a son Steven Fry (2008), and a grandson, Shawn Ross (2017).
Interment will be private at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Thornwald Nursing Home, 442 Walnut Bottom Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013
