Claire Emma Gould Williams, 93, formerly of Chatham and Chester, NJ, passed away on August 6, 2024 in Pennsylvania.
Born November 1, 1930, in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Clifford L. Gould and the late Madeline G. Tardy Gould Wagner.
Claire grew up in Maplewood, NJ and graduated from Columbia High School, class of 1948. She met her husband Edward Williams in Maplewood and they married April 28, 1951.
Claire worked in the claims processing division of Beneficial Life Insurance Corporation, formerly located in Peapack, NJ, retiring in 1996. In her retirement she enjoyed her home in Chester, NJ and spending time with her family. Claire was also a Mary Kay Cosmetic sales representative. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Harrisburg Chapter.
Claire is survived by one daughter Deborah L. Zukovich, Chester, NJ and her two sons David E. Williams (Lori), Portland, OR and Thomas O. Williams (Peg), Mechanicsburg, PA; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Claire was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Williams (1977), and her sister Joan D. Gould Holenstein (2016) previously of Mendham, NJ.
A private funeral service will be held in New Jersey at the convenience of her family. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Thornwald, UCC Homes Benevolent Fund 30 North 31st Street Camp Hill, PA 17011.
