Claire Adelaide Rue, 85, of Carlisle died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born June 3, 1928 in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Adelaide Ihnken Boeschel.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and later Notre Dame College with a BS in Business. Claire was a Secretary to the Executive Vice-President of Bankers Trust, New York City, NY and also a substitute teacher at Florence Township School District in New Jersey. She was an avid reader, enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, knitting, and travel. Claire was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. She particularly enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with her friends weekly.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, William F. Rue of Carlisle; two daughters, Monica Dils (and husband, David) of Carlisle and Jill Maye (and husband, Anthony) of Quakertown; one son, Jeffry S. Rue (and wife, Christine) of Elkins Park; six grandchildren, Lauren VanDerveer (and husband, Brian), Meghan Dils, Taylor Dils, Douglas Maye (and wife, Nicole), Andrew Maye, and Rosa Claire Rue.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline as celebrant. A private burial will be in St. Johns Church Cemetery, 22 North Main Street, Allentown, NJ. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
