Cindy S. Jones

Cindy S. Jones, 70, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 in her home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 29, 1948 in Lewistown to the late John W. and Doris (Hull) Sheerer.
Cindy was a 1966 graduate of East Juniata High School and a 1969 graduate of Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a RN for 43 years at Carlisle Regional Hospital before retiring in 2014. Cindy loved her husband, children, grandchildren, brother and church family. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, cooking, gardening and traveling our country and abroad with her husband.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, David K. Jones of Carlisle; one son, Christopher D. (wife Felicia) Jones of Hellertown; one daughter, Amy (husband Eric) Himelright of Harrisburg; two granddaughters, Samantha Jones and Hailey Himelright; and one brother, Steven (wife Trudy) Sheerer of Richfield.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Lisa M. Leber officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cindy to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 South Bedford Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
