Cindy Elizabeth Wenger, 79, of Carlisle passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
Born on October 6, 1940 in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Durin) Hays. She was the widow of Cressler Wenger.
Cindy was a 1958 graduate of Shippensburg High School. She was a teacher of Beauty Culture at the Joan Lee Beauty School and worked as a beautician at the Hazel Hoyaux Beauty Shop. She later worked at Lines Office Supplies and Cracker Barrell where she retired. She was a member of Gold’s Gym, YMCA and AARP and a former member of the Garden Club. Cindy volunteered weekly at Project SHARE in Carlisle. She was heavily involved in her grandkids’ lives and surrounded herself with many life-long friends.
Cindy is survived by her children, Cressinda Bybee (John) of Carlisle, Mark Wenger (Michele Cray) of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Jamie Harry, Lauren Tate (Gregory), and Amber Bybee, all of Carlisle, Jaron Mease of Harrisburg, Sarah Bybee of South Carolina, and Dianne White of Pittsburgh; sister, Carole Gardner of Newburg; great-granddaughter, Rayden Tate; two step-sisters and one step-brother. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Josh Wenger.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #578, 120 W. Ridge Street, Carlisle.
