Christine S. Mcintyre

Christine S. McIntyre, 101, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community.
She was born March 16, 1917 in Sharon, PA to the late John N. and Lucy (Swank) McIntyre.
Christine was a graduate of Swissvale Area High School, California State Teachers College with a B.S., and Penn State University with a M. S. degree. She taught at Confluence Area High School in Confluence, PA; North Fayette Township Area School District and Rockwood Area High School in Somerset, PA before finding a home in Carlisle. Christine retired from Carlisle Area School District after teaching speech, language, and hearing for over 25 years. She was a member of Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church since 1987.
Christine is survived by her longtime friend, Nancy Wilson of Shippensburg. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Piper.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, 1 Longsdorf Way, Carlisle, PA 17015 with Chaplain Judy Strayer officiating. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Christine to Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church, 14 Westminster Drive Carlisle, PA 17013.
