Charles L. Swartz

Charles L. Swartz, age 72, of Newville, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was born on October 1, 1943 in Altoona, PA to the late Charles R. and Beulah T. Casner Swartz.
Charles started his working career at C.H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle, followed by P.R. Hoffman Machine Products, Carlisle and finished working in the maintenance department at Fry Communications, Inc., Mechanicsburg. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and country music especially Freddy Fender.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Linda K. Chronister Swartz of Newville; four children, Theresa (and husband Robert) Keck of Carlisle, Michael (and wife Jennifer) Swartz of Linglestown, Douglas (and wife Amy) Swartz of Carlisle and Christine Hershey of Carlisle; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two step-sons, Jason (and wife Crystal) Fraker of Newville and Craig Fraker of Newburg; a sister, Alma (and husband John) Weaver of Carlisle; and a brother Jerry (and wife Deborah) Swartz of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Burial will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
