Charles E. Heberlig

Charles E. Heberlig, of Newville, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at UPMC West Shore, Mechanicsburg.

He was 82 and the husband of 44 years to Debra (Hock) Heberlig.

Born in Newville, he was the son of the late George and Ruth Kamerer Heberlig.

Charlie was a hardworking man, working as a dairy farmer for 43 years, retiring in 2005. Even upon retirement, he continued crop farming until 2020.

He was employed as the “Best Guy Ever” by the Pennsylvania Farm Show, overseeing virtually everything that had to happen for the farm show to take place.

Charlie enjoyed cycling, hiking, snow mobiling, hunting and fishing. Prior to his 50th birthday, he had a goal of hiking to the Flatrock 50 times that year. He achieved that goal.

Charlie and Debra attended Community Christian Fellowship Church.

He was a man of integrity and kindness, with a very quiet strength, was a great listener and had a deep love for his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed greatly.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his children: Barbara Mann, Jane Lee (Eddie), Charles, Jr.; his grandchildren: Jeanne, Harry, III, Cassie, Jake, Charles, III, Samantha, Truman; his great grandchildren: Waylon, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Huck, Parker, Zoey, Maleah, Eliza and Maximillian, as well as his siblings: Gary Heberlig (Donna), Winifred Murphy, Mary Anne Heckendorn (Fred), Nancy Hosler, Michael Heberlig (Sharon).

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 10 am Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Community Christian Fellowship, 360 York Road, Carlisle, PA 17013, where the family will greet friends after 9 am prior to the service. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
