Carrie E. Witmer

Carrie Witmer, of Enola, passed away January 9, 2025, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill at the age of 65 while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Harrisburg on April 23, 1959, she was the daughter of the late David M. and Dolores (Garrett) Miller.

Carrie worked as a waitress at several diners in the Cumberland Valley area. She is also known by those closest to her as an animal lover who enjoyed spending time with her pets.

In addition to Dale Witmer, her loving husband of 20 years, Carrie is survived by a son David M. Gilbert, of Wilmington, DE and a daughter Donna L. (husband Matt) Shunk, of New Bloomfield. Her siblings: Colehe Balthaser, Vina Strouser, David M. George, Cheryl Forrey, Raymond E. George, Carol Fish, Crystal Sunday, Candance Houser, William George and Earl E. Clouser.  Carrie is also survived by three grandchildren: Faith, Serah and Hope Shunk.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service and also 7:30-8:30 p.m. the evening before at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
