Carrie Suzanne "Sue" Carr Thorne

Carrie Suzanne "Sue" Carr Thorne, age 57, of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born on May 28, 1958 in Mechanicsburg to the late Clarence Frank and Marian Lavina Mains Myers.
Carrie was a native and lifelong residence of the Pennsylvania area. She attended school in the Carlisle area and shortly after moved to Walnut Grove, CA to start a family. She enjoyed every aspect of being a mother and loved her family and friends. She lived a very simple life with lots of faith and love. She enjoyed being outdoors, reading, arts and crafts and family gatherings.
She is survived by her sons, Brian K. Thorne, age 32, of Pasadena, CA and Jeremy S. Thorne, age 29, of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Anne Myers of PA; and sister-in-law, Virginia Davis of Carlisle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chad Michael Thorne; a brother, Frank K. Myers; and her long loved companion of 8 years, Steve Weidenhof.
Memorial services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her former residence. A brief graveside service was held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg.
