Carol S.R. Young

Carol S. R. Young, age 95, of Carlisle, passed away May 16, 2020 at Church of God Home. Born July 21, 1924 in Harrisburg, daughter of the late John William and Verda (Julius) Swenson.
Carol graduated from John Harris High School and was a medical secretary for Dr. Cowley.
Surviving are her step-sons, Daniel Markel, Colonial Park, PA; William Markel and wife, Chris, Colonial Park, PA and Richard Markel and wife, Judy, Oregon and niece, Joan Sanders, Carlisle.
Carol was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold G. Young Jr; second husband, George Markel; brothers, Roland, Clarence, Robert and Herman Swenson and sisters, Alma Wintindale and Wilna Sanders.
At Carol’s request, there will be no viewing or services. Inurnment will take place at East Harrisburg Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle.
