Carl E. "UNC" Finkenbinder, 76, of Plainfield, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Born August 5, 1937 in Greason, the son of the late Arthur Rae and Estella C. Warner Finkenbinder.
He retired from the Union Quarries, prior he had worked at the Locust Pointe Quarry Plant. He loved the time he spent with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching TV, especially old westerns and visiting his neighbors on his scooter.
Surviving are his wife of twenty-eight years, Patricia L. Gleim Finkenbinder; two sons, Joshua J. Barrett (and wife, Jessica) of Gardners and Jeremiah A. Barrett of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Ivy, Wyatt, Wade, and Chayse Barrett; one sister, Frances Kutz of North Carolina; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Marlin, and Richard Finkenbinder and a sister, Gladys Bricker.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Richard Warner officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
