Bruce G. Kipp III, 74, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born August 6, 1947 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Bruce G. Kipp II and Lucretia (Sheppard) Kipp.
Bruce graduated from Central Dauphin East High School and was an Eagle Scout of the highest level. Bruce honorably served his country in the US Navy as an HM3 Medical Assistant from April 1968 – March 1971, serving on the USS Sanctuary, Vietnam, and earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He graduated from Hahnemann Medical College & Hospital of Philadelphia as the first Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania in 1973. He joined the Belvedere Medical Center Family Practice in 1973 and retired in 2007. He was a sports fanatic, loved Hockey and played for the Colonial Bruins in 1972, and was a fan of the Washington Capitals, Phillies, and Eagles. He belonged to the IATSE Local 98 and was a Parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle, PA. Bruce loved animals, being outdoors, camping, kayaking, and going to the gym. He loved Rock & Roll music, oldies, and he participated in numerous MS50 bike marathons. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his partner in crime, Caroline Massaro, son Brian (Monica) Kipp, daughter Denise (Jason) Benkowitsch, and grandchildren Avery, Jaiden, Desiree, great-grandchildren Kennedy and Kash, sisters Kathy (Tom) Schiavoni, Wendy (late husband George) Hibsman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 12:00pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bruce to the St. Patrick Catholic School, 87 Marsh Drive, Carlisle PA 17013.
