Brian E. Walsh

Brian E. Walsh passed away on Thursday December 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family in Mechanicsburg, PA. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, “Walshie,” and friend.

Brian was born February 18, 1957 in Lehighton, PA, the oldest son of Linda D. (Kirkendall Walsh) Frey and the late Edward P. Walsh. His mother says he was born with his fists in the air, ready to fight and he bravely fought cancer until his last breath.

Brian was the co-owner of Walsh’s Lawn and Landscaping, a business that he and his late brother, Jeff, started in 1980. They worked together until Jeff's passing in 2021.

Brian enjoyed the outdoors. Whether he was in Raystown, Ocean City MD, Canada or even Jamaica, he loved nature wherever he could find it. His favorite hobbies were gardening, hunting, fishing and boating. He loved his family and friends.

Brian was a longtime member and officer of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299. He was a longtime member of the Saxton Sportsmen Association and the Carlisle White Circle Club.

His untimely passing has left a gaping hole in all of our hearts. Life will not be the same without him.

In addition to his mother, Linda D. (Kirkendall Walsh) Frey, Brian is survived by his wife of 35 years, Valerie (Bittner), his children: Brian II and wife, Vanessa of Carlisle, PA; Abraham and wife, Beverly of Newville, PA and Cassandra and husband, Gary of Altoona, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Zavier, Grace, Zoey, Arthur and Zachariah; along with his bonus grandchildren: Ariella and Greyson. Sister-in-law, Mayling. 1 nephew and 5 nieces.

Brian was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Jeffrey, sister-in-law, Barbara and his niece, Lorraine “Rainey".

A Viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 W. Trindle Rd in Carlisle, PA 17013.

A Celebration of Life Service in Honor of Brian on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with a viewing held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Burial and Committal services will be held immediately following the service at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle, PA.
