Betty F. Smith

Betty F. Smith, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, August 28 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 78. Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Ray Melvin and Ethel Mae (Cooper) Hock. She was the loving wife of the late Walter Smith.

Betty worked as a professional cleaner for years. She was a Member of Carlisle Church of God. She loved attending concerts, sporting events, and other activities with her grandchildren. She often vacationed in Ocean City, MD. She adored her cat Bubby. Betty was known for her magnetic, angelic personality who touched family and friends alike.

Surviving are a daughter, Brandy Smith of Carlisle; sons Mark Smith and Doug Smith, both of Newville; a niece, Shawn Stitt (husband Kevin) and her children Dylan and Jacob of Mechanicsburg; and a her companion of more than 40 years, William Wolfe, with whom she lived. Grandchildren Trevante, Madison, Anthony, Nathan, Jonathan, Donovan, Serenity, and Brayleigh also survive her. Betty was looking forward to the birth of her first great-granddaughter in January. Betty was preceded in death by siblings Jack Hock, Doris Sollenburger, Bonnie Fry, Ray Hock, and Denny Hock. Her niece, Tina Sollenburger, also predeceased her. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty's memory to Carlisle Church of God, 458 N College St, Carlisle, PA 17013. Services have been entrusted to Hoffman Funeral & Cremation Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
