Betty L. Wisotzkey, age 77, of Carlisle, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her home.
She was born June 19, 1940 in Carlisle to the late Ray Arnold and Florence (Alexander) Woodrow.
Betty had been the manager of the former family business, Woodies Holly Pike Barbeque. She had retired from J.C. Wentzel of Carlisle. She worked with her husband, Bob, at events held at the Carlisle Fish and Game. She was a member of and former President of the Friendship Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Betty loved cooking, camping and spending time with her family and friends that she and Bob had met over the years.
She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Robert R. Wisotzkey of Carlisle; a sister, Ruth Gensler of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Woodrow and a sister, Elsie Bishop.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Richard G. Jones officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Letort Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to Carlisle Fire & Rescue, 177 Spring Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
