Betty L. Adams, 87, of Carlisle, died Friday, January 10, 2014 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born June 12, 1926 in Polo, MO, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Lola Fay McKerlie Ferril and the widow of Richard L. Adams, Sr.
She retired from Piezo Crystal Plant in 1989 after thirty plus years. Betty was a member of Eastern Star #375, Carlisle Sunday School Association and First United Methodist Church where she taught kindergarten class in Sunday school for forty years. Betty did volunteer work at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Surviving are her son, Richard L. Adams, Jr. (and wife, Mercy) of Carlisle and her grandson, Michael Adams of Carlisle. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Inez Crookshanks, Mary Stephenson, and Ruby Fay Ferril; one brother, Ervin Ferril; and her infant daughter, Carol Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Mira Hewlett officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
