Betty J. Swarner

Betty J. Swarner, 72, of Carlisle, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at her home.
Born December 21, 1940 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late John and Charolette Lintner Worley.
She was a graduate of Carlisle High School. She was employed by Rite Aid for over twenty years as a customer service representative. She was a member of Carlisle Baptist Church. Betty liked to read, do crocheting, and go camping. She also enjoyed spending time at the Carlisle Senior Center.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-two years, Wayne Swarner of Carlisle; three children: David S. Swarner (and wife Tammy) of Carlisle, Cindy Young (and husband, Martin) of Carlisle, and Technical Sgt Philip Swarner (and wife, Melissa) of Dover, DE; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Swarner, one brother, John Worley Jr, and one sister, Geraldine Crabtree.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Dale Barrick and Rev. Ed Roman co-officiating. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
