Bettie J. Henry

Bettie J. Henry, age 90, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the home of her daughter while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 30, 1926 in Wyomissing, PA to the late Joel and Elsie (Diehl) Daniel and was the widow of James B. Henry, Sr.
Bettie was formerly an Associate real estate broker for over 35 years with B-H Agency and was a member of the Carlisle Area Board of Realtors. During her career, she attained several professional designations, including GRI and CRS and was a former Realtor of the Year. Bettie and her husband traveled extensively, both domestic and abroad, with many travel clubs and she loved spending time with her grandchildren of whom she was very proud. Bettie was a 70 year member of First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir. In 2005, after her beloved husband passed, she started her own weekly bereavement support group. Bettie was a member of: a local bridge club; the Red Hat Society; ABWA, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; the Carlisle Area Healthcare Auxiliary; the Newcomers Club; HARB, where she served on the board; the Chamber of Commerce; PPC Club; and the Elks BPOE #578.
She is survived by: two daughters, Susan Henry (and husband Peter) Ostrowski of Carlisle and Jane Henry (and husband Lorenzo) Bernal of Boca Raton, FL; one son, James B. "JB" (and wife Terri) Henry, Jr. of Carlisle; two brothers, George Daniel of FL and Donald (and wife Martha) Daniel of Sinking Springs; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Bettie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Noecker and a brother Joel Daniel, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, 2A N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA with Rev. Anthony D. Lorenz officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
