Beryl “Budâ€Â Campbell Gardner, 77, of Carlisle, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born May 28, 1934 in Chicago, he was the son of the late S. Beryl and Billie Campbell Gardner.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church serving as a Trustee and Elder. He served the United Way of Carlisle as President in 1971 and ran the campaign in 1968. He started with CH Masland and Son in 1956 as a Computer Analyst and retired in 1986 as President and CEO. He served in the US Naval Reserve on staff of CINCLANTFLT. In his retirement he enjoyed sailing, cruising, and traveling throughout the world.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth S. Gardner of Carlisle; three children, Beth Gardner (and husband, Michael Aucoin) of Mullica Hill, NJ, Sharon Gardner of New York, NY and Laura Leistra (and husband, James) of Penfield, NY; and five grandchildren, Jennifer, Benjamin, Daniel, Abigail, and Matthew.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle with Rev. Jeffrey W. Gibelius officiating.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
