Belinda Lee Morris

March 22, 1976 — February 12, 2019

Belinda Lee (Bartley) Morris, 42, of Carlisle passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

Born March 22, 1976, she was the daughter of Brenda Bartley-Olsen and the late Albert Bartley. She was the wife of Pastor Jody Morris and would have celebrated 25 years of marriage together in July 2019.

Belinda received a Bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University with an Early Childhood Education major. She loved her career as a teacher serving in Washington, California and Pennsylvania schools. Kindergarten was her favorite grade. In 2004, her first year of teaching, she proudly received the Teacher of the Year Award. Most recently she was a substitute teacher for the Carlisle and Big Spring School Districts.

She was a member of the Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Carlisle where she taught Sunday School, led Vacation Bible School and planned meals for families in need. Her husband describes her as the backbone of his pastoral ministry.

Belinda loved her sons and devoted her time to all aspects of their lives. She stayed busy keeping the boys busy. She instilled hard work, dedication with patience and perseverance in the boys both in school and through a regiment of extracurricular activities. Above all, she taught them to love their savior, remember the helpless, and marry a Christian woman.

She also loved her nieces and nephews that often stayed with her throughout the years. She was a guardian of her nephew, Gabriel Bartley for several years. Belinda was a compassionate and sympathetic protector who paid close attention to individuals in need of love and support. Her heart was too big for this world.

In her spare time, Belinda enjoyed camping, hiking, gardening, cooking and canning. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jody Morris; sons, Calvin and Quentin; mother, Brenda Bartley-Olsen; brothers, Dan, Vincent and Thelen; sisters, Vanessa, Katie and Judy; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Bartley and step-father, Curt Olsen.
