Beatrice Carns

Beatrice Ann Carns, 79, of Shermansdale, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at UPMC West Shore.

Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Brewbaker) Wrightstone.

Beatrice enjoyed working at the Welcome Center at Excell, the trucking company where she retired from. She also loved golfing in her younger years, going to casinos, playing cards with the family, especially 500 card Rummy, eating junk food and ordering things from QVC for herself and/or her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Hoyt Carns; her children, Machell Farner, Mike Henry and Carrie Lyn Wallace; her seven grandchildren as well as her sister, Bonnie Wolaniuk and her brother, Fred Wrightstone.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her son, Sam Wrightstone, her grandson, Dustin Treaster, her sisters, Janet DiBono and Linda Manney and her brothers, George Wrightstone and Kenny Wrightstone.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 12 pm Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 11 am prior to the service. Interment will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
