Barry E. Hurley

Barry E. Hurley, age 70, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday evening, March 1, 2016 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
He was born on January 8, 1946 in Mechanicsburg to the late Vernon E. and Joyce M. Ulsh Hurley.
Barry was formerly employed by Calabrese Machine Shop, Mechanicsburg, for 31 years and retired after 12 years from U.S.A. Spares, Inc. (formerly Keystone Machine Shop) of Carlisle. He was a member of Middlesex United Methodist Church of Carlisle. Barry enjoyed dirt track racing and camping with his family. He had his own machine shop at home and also enjoyed working on all types of woodworking projects for his family. His family meant the most to him and he loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie L. May Hurley of Carlisle; two sons, Randy E. Hurley of Dover and Jeffrey L. Hurley of Carlisle; four daughters, Crystal L. (and husband David) Motter, Sally J. (and husband Monte) Dye, Amy L. (and husband Jerry) Johnson and Karen J. (and husband David) Yingling, all of Carlisle; a brother, Steven E. (and wife Bev) Hurley of Carlisle; a sister, Linda L. (and husband Don) Williams of East Berlin; eighteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon K. Wright.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N. Middlesex Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jan F. Hughes and Rev. Lee Hyman officiating. Private interment will be at Trindle Springs Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
