Barbara Nousianen

Barbara Nousianen passed away peacefully at Church of God home in Carlisle, Pa, on March 9th, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on July 24th, 1932, in Liverpool, England to the late Mary Catherine Meehan. Barbara moved from England to the United States after marrying her husband, Gordan Earl Nousianen, who was a member of the United States Air Force. After being stationed throughout the United States and England, they settled in central Pennsylvania in the late 1960's and resided in Carlisle since 1978. Barbara and Gordon were married for 65 years before his passing on August 27th, 2016. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Carlisle and volunteered for Birthright, Safe Harbor, Meals on Wheels, and the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.

Barbara is survived by five children, Gordon E. of Austin, TX, Robert Dale and Gary, both of Mechanicsburg, PA, Suzanne of Richmond, VA, Patrick (Chivas) of Honolulu, HI; three granddaughters, Pandora (Brian) of Denver, CO, Shelby of Los Angeles, CA, Kristina of Mechanicsburg, PA; two grandsons, Earl Gordon and Henry, both of Honolulu, HI; four great granddaughters, Sophia, Stella, Sadie, and Selena, beloved brother, Robert (Jeannette) of Bishop's Stratford, England, and sister, Carol Johnson of Liverpool, England; along with extended family in England. In addition to her mother and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Doreen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 13th, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive, Carlisle, PA 17015, followed by burial at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, 343 McClures Gap Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
