Barbara J. Kline Shughart, 66, of Mt. Holly Springs, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence with her loving husband and son at her side.
Born June 29, 1947 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Ravenda W. Baker Kline.
She was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1965 and also a graduate of the former Central Penn Business College. She was an instructional assistant at the Cumberland-Perry Vo-Tech and former orthodontic assistant for Dr. Thomas Degling. Barbara was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church, formerly Allison United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women's Association. She was a Sunday School teacher for over forty years with Grace United Methodist Church, Lemoyne and Allison United Methodist Church, Carlisle. Barbara was a former Cub Scout Den Leader and a Den Leader Coach with Cub Scout Pack #171, Boiling Springs. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and traveling with her husband and spending time with her sons and daughter-in-law and her grandson, Cole.
Surviving are her husband of forty-four years, J. Earl Shughart of Mt. Holly Springs; two sons, Greg A. Shughart (and wife, Nicole) and their son, Cole of Bethel Park and Steven L. Shughart of Mt. Holly Springs; and one sister, Lois J. Jamieson (and husband, Bill) of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2014 at Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 South West Street, Carlisle with Rev. Mira Hewlett and Rev. John Good co-officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
