Barbara Jean Grommet

Barbara Jean Grommet, of Carlisle, passed away at Cumberland Crossings on November 28, 2024 at the age of 85. Born May 6, 1939 in Denver, CO she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and B. Joyce (Robinson) Buzick. She was the loving wife of the late William D. Grommet, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Barbara attended technical school for training to be a medical assistant, later working in the chiropractic arena. Recently, she managed the Cumberland Crossings book store, also serving on the Cumberland Crossings Auxiliary. Barbara also enjoyed puzzles and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter Nikki (husband Edward) Otto, of Carlisle, and a son Douglas Grommet of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by grandchildren Alex, Kira (husband Tyler), Jessica, Jacob, and Lucas. Four great-grandchildren also survive her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert D. Buzick.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 with The Rev. Judy Strayer officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr. Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
