Barbara Goodman

Barbara A. Goodman, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on December 26th, 2024. Born on September 19th, 1935, in Manhattan, NY, Barbara is the daughter of the late Irma M. Terins. 

Barbara was a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and a devoted wife to her late husband of 67 years, James F. Goodman. She was a bubbly and kindhearted woman, who was family oriented, always making sure she spent with quality time with her loved ones. She enjoyed hosting family events and she particularly enjoyed cooking for and feeding her family. She made it a point to make sure that nobody ever left her home hungry. Barbara overcame many struggles in her life, but she never let it affect her relationships with those she loved. She will be dearly missed all of those who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Goodman, her daughter, Ilona S. Newton, and her grandson, Billy Gallo.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Maribeth Heishman (Jeffrey), her grandchildren, Anthony Gallo (Brittny), Jason Gallo (Melissa), Stephen Gallo (Ann), Melissa Gallo, Terin Pazich (Daniel), Lydia Frohm (Drew), and Eric Heishman (Megan), and her great grandchildren, Damien, Franklin, Jase, Logan, Kaylee, Ava, Sophia, and Vera.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home for their compassionate care of Barbara at her end of life.

A visitation will be held on January 20th, 2025, from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.

Burial will be private at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the discretion of the family.
