Barbara Cornman

Barbara Cornman, 90, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at UPMC Carlisle.

Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary (Mobley) Rush and wife of the late Chester M. Cornman, who passed away in 2007.

Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Carlisle High School and worked at the former Piezo Crystal.

She was a life member of Carlisle Area Healthcare Auxiliary and former member of Claremont Auxiliary and Carlisle AARP #4377, where she held many offices in these organizations.

Barb was an active member of Mt. Rock United Methodist Church and greatly valued the friendships of those in her church as well as those in her clubs. She and Chester also enjoyed attending flea markets.

Barbara is survived by her children: Dianna L. Boland, her husband, Vincent, Tracy L. Cornman; her grandchildren: Jackie Murphy, her husband, Chris, Joey Cornman, his wife, Kati, Jessie Appleby, Glenn E. Cornman, Jr., his wife, Kyla; her great grandchildren: Alyssa Cornman, Alexis Cornman, Landon Cornman, Brooke Cornman; her sister: Dorothy L. Thumma; her brothers: Gary Rush and Larry Rush; many nieces and nephews as well as her special family friend: Valerie Byrne.

In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sons: Chester M. Cornman, Jr. and Glenn E. Cornman; her brother: John W. Rush and her sisters: M. Deloris Wilson, L. LaVerne Monismith and Donna Wolfe.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 12:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle where the family will greet guests after 10:30 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to Mt. Rock United Methodist Church, 598 Mt. Rock Road, Newville, PA 17241.
