Barbara Ann Mccoy Younger

On Monday March 15th, 2021, Barbara Ann McCoy Younger passed away at the age of 79.

Barbara was born in Mt Holly Springs as the oldest daughter of Herman McCoy and Janet Lebo McCoy. She graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1960. Barbara worked as a clerk and bookkeeper in accounting for several garment factories in Carlisle and Mt Holly before working for the South Middleton School District in the business office for twenty years.

Barbara was a skilled and passionate gardener, known for her green thumb and beautiful garden. She was a skilled needleworker in cross stitch, embroidery and needlepoint. Barbara loved music, devoured novels and adored her cats. She loved baking and sharing her creations. Barbara was a much loved and central figure for her large family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother Fred McCoy and younger sister Phyllis McCoy Irwin.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Melissa McCoy, her sisters Martha Calaman and Joyce Klein, her brothers Ken McCoy and Galen Bonebrake and her spouse Al Younger.

A memorial service to celebrate Barbara will be held at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA on Saturday April 17th at 11:00AM. Attendees are encouraged to share their memories of Barbara.
