Barbara A. Rider

Barbara A. “Barb” Rider, 72, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home.
She was born December 22, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Maynard Robson and Grace L. (McClintock) Schlusser and was the widow of Henery Russell Rider.
Barb loved coffee, coloring and outings with family. She was formerly employed by the Salvation Army, Carlisle. Barb was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (husband Larue) Gordner of Carlisle and Tina Rider of Dillsburg; one son, Donald Jr. (wife Cathy) Robson of York; three siblings, Edward (wife Lucy) Robson of Bressler, Mary Stevens of Virginia, and Carolyn Tapper of New Kingston; eleven grandchildren, Dustin Rider, Kala Conrad, Kenneth Eckenrode III, Donald Robson Jr., Michael Kauffman II, Logan Gordner, Kenneth Gil III, Coltan Gordner, Maximiliano Gil, Jaden Gil, Madison Gordner; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Barb was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Johnson; one brother, Ronald Robson; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Barb’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 to help defray the funeral costs.
