Arthur F. Goodhart

Arthur F. Goodhart was born June 21, 1938 to Arthur H. and Mary (Keiter) Goodhart. He was married 60 years to the late Esther Goodhart.

Surviving him are the children of his youth. Daughter: Cindy, wife of Rob Myers and son: Dolan Goodhart and wife Elizabeth. Loved also were his grandchildren: Jerry, Tess, Gina, Shayna, Derek, Elijah and Zachariah. Added blessings are his seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is Art’s favorite brother: Jerry Goodhart, brother-in-law: Bob Sherman and Uncle: Floyd Sowers.

He was a graduate of Big Spring class of 1958. Art eventually became a heavy equipment operator, working for Local #542 for many years, after which he worked for Lear Corp.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Carlisle and the Big Spring Masonic Lodge # 361, Newville. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar.

He appreciated a good challenge with engine repair. Art truly loved mowing his lawn as well as his neighbors.

His sisters, Vi Newcomer, Donna Smith, Pat Whalen, Carol Kerr and Joy Sherman were waiting for him at Heaven’s gate.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 11 am Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. His viewings will be held Wednesday, February 15 from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home and Thursday, February 16 from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
