Anthony “Tater” Hench, 63, of Carlisle, died Sunday, January 5, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Richard Hench and Idella (Dupert) Hench, who survives. He was also the husband of 16 years to Christine (Shughart) Hench.
Tater worked as a mechanic for over 30 years with Carlisle Radiator, many of those years as owner/operator.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, 4-wheeling, golfing and mowing his yard. Coincidently, he was the only one allowed to mow the grass.
Tater loved his Mopar and loved the West End. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing Gospel music. His greatest joy came from hanging out with his boys and grandkids.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Jason Scott Fahnestock (Jen), Chad Michael Hench (Chelsea); his grandchildren: Alissa Barrick, Ethan Fahnestock, Jackson Fahnestock, Attlee Fahnestock, Raven Hench and Mackenzie Hench; his four great grandchildren as well as his sisters: Christina Hoffman and Lawenda Dupy.
Tater was preceded in death by his brother: John Hench.
