Anne Theresa Connolly

Anne Connolly (Nancy), 79, died Tuesday October 16th in her home. Nancy was the loving wife of John Connolly, the loving mother of Christopher (wife Jessica) Connolly, and the loving grandmother of Elizabeth. Nancy was born in Swampscott, MA on Aug. 18th, 1939 to parents Virginia and John Larkin. Nancy is survived by her sister Ellen Grisanti.
Nancy started her lifelong love of travel and culture by graduating from Colby College with a degree in French. Her love of travel was evident with her career as a flight attendant for Pan American International flights. During this time she met the love of her life John Connolly. They married on November 29th, 1969. Four years later they welcomed their son Christopher into their lives.
Nancy was the gold standard for what a military officer’s wife should be. She “survived” over 25 moves across the country and overseas, mentored and guided officers’ wives groups, volunteered in every community, and ensured her son had every opportunity for activities. She was the rock that held everything together for her family and unit while the soldiers were deployed. She did it all with an elegance and grace that all who knew her remember.
Nancy had a simple motto, “Enjoy the little things.” Her pride and joy was the family around her. Eating mussels on the shores of WA with her son’s family. Having high tea with her niece’s and nephew’s daughters. Watching her niece’s sons race around the yard throwing a baseball. Sitting on the bleachers at Sicily drop zone at Fort Bragg watching her husband lead her beloved Paratroopers. For all her experiences, it all came down to the “Little Things.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2PM on Saturday October 27th 2018 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr. Carlisle PA with Rev. Martin O. Moran III officiating. A visitation will be held from 1PM until the time of the Mass on Saturday at the Church. Burial will be with her beloved husband John on 28 January 2019 at Arlington National Cemetery.
