Annabelle Bixler, 77, of Carlisle, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at home.
Born May 7, 1934 in Huntsdale, daughter of the late William H. Albright and Nora Rice Albright, and widow of R. Edward Bixler.
She was a graduate of Carlisle High School. Annabelle retired from the former United Telephone Company after over 40 years service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Telephone Pioneers and the Elks BPO Lodge 578, Carlisle.
Surviving are her son Tim Bixler and daughter-in-law Kim Bixler, of Manhattan Beach, California; two grandchildren, Kendall and Robert Bixler; two sisters, Thelma Tritt of Carlisle; and Nancy Nickel of West Palm Beach, Florida, many nieces and nephews; and her loving feline companion Winston (the happiest, most spoiled cat ever). She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Jane Swigert and Helen Shank, and one brother, William Albright.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Visiting hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Member’s First Bank in Carlisle to assist in the treatment of Annabelle’s 12-year-old-great niece, Haven Miller, in her fight against brain cancer.
