Anna C. Shoemaker

Anna C. Shoemaker, age 94, resident of Cumberland Crossings and formerly of 117 Hillside Dr. in Carlisle, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Born May 23, 1922, in Carlisle, she was the only daughter of the late Christopher and Mary Ethel (Quigley) Thumma and the widow of C. Adrian Shoemaker.
A 1941 graduate of Carlisle High School, she was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle, for many years. A talented seamstress, Anna also enjoyed quilting and other needlecrafts. She and her husband took great pleasure in traveling, collecting postcards and stamps, and being with family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include three daughters: Ann Snyder of Allentown, PA; Natalie Parenteau (and her husband Paul) of The Villages, FL; and Jeanne Quintile of Lebanon, NJ; eight grandchildren: David and C. Daniel Hartenstine; Steven and Jason Prescott; Anthony and Christopher Quintile and their sister Amanda Tiboni; and Lindsey Parenteau; five great-grandchildren: Sydney and Halle Prescott; Robert and Jessi Prescott; and Aidan Quintile; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Anna was preceded in death by five brothers.
A service will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, with Reverend Judy Strayer officiating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Longsdorf Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

The family is most grateful for the care and concern shown to Anna and Adrian by the entire staff of Cumberland Crossings since 2005.
