Ann Bryan Salzmann, 83, of Boiling Springs, PA entered into eternal life on May 13, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brentwood, NY, Ann was the
daughter of the late George J. and Rita A. (Fearon) Bryan. Ann’s siblings were
her six older brothers, of which two George J. “Bubs” Bryan and Robert (Lou)
Bryan still survive. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Kathy Bryan. Ann graduated from St. Anne’s School, Brentwood, NY in 1951, and Academy of Saint Joseph, Brentwood, NY in 1955. Ann excelled in all academic subjects often earning the top awards in her class. She held leadership positions in many extracurricular clubs. Finally, Ann earned her Bachelors in Science from Salve Regina College in 1959.
On January 28, 1961 she married Dr. George B. Salzmann D.V.M. They were married for 42 years until Dr. Salzmann’s death in 2003. Together they raised their five
children in Sunbury, PA and were faithful members of St. Michael the Archangel
Roman Catholic Church. As with their own childhoods, Dr. and Mrs. Salzmann
valued Catholic school education at every level and provided all their children
with Catholic education from elementary through college years. While raising her
five children, Mrs. Salzmann established a kindergarten program at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School. She later attended Penn State University earning a certificate to work as a Paralegal. Ann was also a published author of children’s books.
Mrs. Salzmann moved from Sunbury, PA to Boiling Springs, PA in 2010.
She attended daily Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Carlisle, PA until she became homebound due to illness.
In addition to her two brothers, and two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Salzmann is survived
by her five children Mary Pat (Brian) Phelan of Newark, DE; Cynthia A. (Tom)
Costello of Steubenville, OH; Pamela T. Salzmann of Olean, NY; G.Bryan (Susan) Salzmann of Carlisle, PA; and Linda Jo (Mark) Pieninck of Pennsburg,PA. Mrs.
Salzmann delighted in hearing about the education and activities of her 22
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, Ann was preceded in death by four brothers, James F. (Mary) Bryan, Donald J. (Rosalie) Bryan, Rev. Paul V. Bryan C.Ss.R., and Thomas E. Bryan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Drive Carlisle, PA 17015 with the Very Rev. William C. Forrey and Rev. Donald H. Bender concelebrating. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ann, to St. Patrick School, 87 Marsh Drive Carlisle, PA 17015.
