Andre J. De Glas

Andre J. De Glas, age 89, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
He was born April 24, 1927 in Malines, Belgium to the late Joseph P. and Germaine (Hertens) De Glas and was the widower of the late Gladys (Miller) De Glas.
Andre was a graduate of St. Rombouts High School in Malines, Belgium and attended Cardinal Merrier Catholic Church in Brussels. He worked at the Reeves-Hoffman Crystal Plant for over 29 years and retired from the Piezo Crystal Company. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Boiling Springs Anglers Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy A. Patterson and Jacqueline A. (and husband Frederick III) Withum, both of Carlisle; and four grandchildren, Aaron T. Patterson of Brooklyn, NY, Megan A. Patterson of New Haven, CT, Frederick "Story" Withum IV of Mechanicsburg and Andrew De Glas Withum of Carlisle. In addition to his parents and wife, Andre was preceded in death by son-in-law, Kent T. Patterson; a sister, Therese Dunlavey; and a brother, Jacques De Glas.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Shrine Church, 140 E. Pomfret Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Don Bender as Celebrant. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lifeways Adult Services, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, PA 17015.
