Amber Jean Marie Highlands

Amber Jean Marie Highlands, age 28, of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born September 21, 1989 in Carlisle to Michael K. Highlands and Tracy R. (Israel) Highlands.
She was a home health care aide and enjoyed taking care of people. Amber’s finest accomplishment was being a mother to her two children. She was adventurous and free spirited, and music helped Amber to express her feelings. She will be deeply missed by her family and her little fur baby dog, Mallo.
She is survived by: her two children, Avery Highlands of Lebanon and Hayden Unger of Newville; her parents, Tracy R. Highlands (fiancé Michael J. Marol) of Shippensburg and Michael K. Highlands of Altoona; two brothers, Michael R. Highlands of Kennett Square and Mike David (wife Silvana) Bastian and their children, Leyla E., Tahlia L. and Liam J. Bastian of Germany; a maternal grandmother, Verna J. Highlands of Carlisle; aunts, Linda (husband Rick) Kuhn, “special mother” Susan (husband Rick) Zeigler; uncles, John (wife Diane) Highlands and James (wife Pam) Highlands; step-sisters, Julie and Lorie Mohler; and cousins, Sheena (husband Tim) Lengle, Alyssa Kennedy, Jessie Stimeling, Dustin Shanafelter, Tara Gordon, Sarah Kuhn, Raymond Deihl and Starra Kuhn.
Services will be private and announced at a later date. There will not be any viewing or visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory to help defray the funeral expenses.
