Alice Hinaman

Alice C. Hinaman, 94, of Newville, died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Green Ridge Village, where she had been residing for the last three years.

Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Sara (Peppermen) Cupp and wife of the late David Hinaman, who passed away in 2019.

Alice graduated from Williamsport High School, class of 1947 and was retired from Sears & Roebuck, where she held many jobs. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Williamsport where she sang in the choir and served as church Treasurer.

Survivors include her children: Trinka Hinaman (daughter-in-law), Gary Hinaman, Cindy Charters (David), Tacey Cullen, Doris Quail (Terry), Brigadier General (RET) Arthur Hinaman (Judy), Lori Grenagle; her nine grandchildren; her 14 great grandchildren as well as her sister: Pearl Nuss.

In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by her son: Sgt. Major David Hinaman, Jr.; her granddaughter: Erin Hinaman and her sister: Sara Ann Watts.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service 11:00 am Friday, December 20, 2024 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests at 10:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be held privately in Williamsport.
