Aleene L. Butterworth

Aleene L. Mervine Butterworth, 68, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA died on Monday, September 30, 2019 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born November 19, 1950 in Strongstown, PA to the late Arthur and Marie Hunter Mervine.
Aleene had retired as a unit secretary for the Cumberland County Nursing and Rehab Center Carlisle. She was a member and Ordained Deacon at the Second Presbyterian Church in Carlisle. Aleene enjoyed card making, birdwatching, yoga, her flower gardens and taking her daily walks.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Clarence “Ed” Butterworth, Jr. of Mt. Holly Springs, three daughters; Tracy L. Heyman and her husband Eugene of Boiling Springs, Susan R. Gladding of Clovis, CA., Julie A. Butterworth and wife Lori of Boiling Springs, one brother, Arthur Mervine of Indiana, PA, three sisters; Catherine Spotts, of Mentor, OH, Sandra Frederick and Rosemary Roles both of Strongstown, PA. and her sister in law, Elizabeth Smith of Mt. Holly Springs. She is also survived by five grandchildren whom she loved, EJ, Olivia, Piper, Carter and Isla. She was preceded by three brothers; Bernard, Ronald, and Melvin Mervine and her son in law, Gavin Gladding.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Second Presbyterian Church 528 Garland Dr. Carlisle with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey W. Gilbilius officiating. There will be a Repast following the service in the church rotundra.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial’s in Aleene’s name be made to the Second Presbyterian Church.
